Fluorescence

Fluorescence photography is an exciting and different type of underwater imaging.  Utilizing specialized fluorescent lights and excitation filters, we are able to photograph sea creatures in ‘a different light’ (pun intended).  Many undersea animals display unique characteristics, glowing bright green, red, and yellow when exposed to fluorescent lights due to certain proteins and algae that ‘respond’ to the high energy blue lighting.  Each of these images below is taken with fluorescent equipment, showing the spectacular colors that elude our eyes under normal, ambient, or white lighting.
