Arp273 – Interacting Galaxies

Arp273LRGB

“Pirouetting Galaxies” is the nickname I’ve assigned these objects.  These tiny distant (200 million light years) galaxies are only 2.0 (UGC1810) and 1.5 (UGC1813) arcseconds across and are called Arp273 collectively.  The two bright yellow-orange and blue stars are foreground in our galaxy.  The invert of the previous image of ARP273 is a short exposure of bright foreground stars superimposed; notice yellow-orange “star” is actually a double star separated by only 2 arcseconds!
