The threat of mega-constellation satellite light pollution cannot be overstated. Sixty StarLink reflecting satellites obliterated the photo of NGC 5353 taken by Lowell Observatory. 12,000 more StarLink satellites are slated for launch and this may just be the beginning of a new era of satellite launches.
