Horseshoe Crab (Limulus polyphemus) – Blue Heron Bridge, Riviera Beach, Fl

Horseshoe crabs and their relatives have been on this planet for 450 million years – making them some of the greatest survivors in history.  Looking at them, you can get a sense of just how unique they truly are.  The fact that they glow, well, just adds to the long list of reasons horseshoe crabs are wild.
