Bearded Fireworm (Hermodice carunculata) sliding around a Cushion Sea Star (Oreaster reticulates) – Blue Heron Bridge, Riviera Beach, Fl
While cruising around the west side of the Blue Heron Bridge, I came across about 10 large, bright-orange Cushion Sea Stars. I approached one and saw a single Fireworm snaking its way around the Sea Star. I screwed on my +10 diopter (macro lens) and snapped this shot. There is so much life at BHB that animals are often climbing over one another!
